Marketing & Communications Delivery Lead
I’m running a team that is creating, developing and delivering the marketing and communications plan for the Covid Passport. This is a 3-month contract role as part of a sprint project.
The focus of the campaign, to generate awareness and encourage English residents to download the NHS App, and then access the passport functionality has been to utilise digital (web & social channels) and public relations. This activity contributed to over 800,000 apps being downloaded in the first week of phase one of the project launch.

Connected Places Catapult
I have developed and delivered a marketing strategy to create awareness and engagement within the Smart Cities and future mobility sector. This strategy has an emphasis on digital, data, PR and events and has established the Catapult as part of the UK's innovation eco-system. In April 2019 I created and delivered a new brand, web presence and relaunch following the merger of two Catapults. The activity incorporated both internal and external communication. Senior Marketing Manager
Initially reporting to the CEO and as part of the senior management team, I created and delivered the marketing strategy to support company turnaround; managed advertising, media and PR agency relationships to drive footfall, improve brand awareness and net promoter score. Initiated a customer focused marketing strategy; managed team of 12 with a £1.5m budget; created UK's largest commercial student brand 'Fuzzy Logic'; grew admissions by 10% with 1million+ students visiting the 40 clubs during the academic year. Download full CV for more details.

Stephen is a high calibre marketing professional. His retail background means he is robust, adaptable and commercially astute however his PR experience means he is also calm and considered. He has great branding experience, good budget control and gets the best out of colleagues and agencies. Stephen is social media savy, a fantastic networker and an assured team leader.
Stephen was the marketing leader of the Transport Systems Catapult when I was a non-executive director and subsequently CEO. He had responsibility for the overall marketing strategy, and for the team, and contacted agencies, that executed all the marketing activities. He confidently and reliably delivered on all his objectives and led his team to deliver many high impact events and campaigns. He was very responsive to the changing needs to the business and he and his team were firmly in the service of the goals of the organisation. Just as importantly he was a great person to work with: cheerful and positive but not scared to call out when ideas needed improvement. I really enjoyed working with Stephen and trusted him completely: I would gladly work with him again, given the opportunity, and I hope such an opportunity will arise.
